A Solution for High Accuracy Temperature Measurement
If you are using platinum resistance thermometers, thermocouples, thermistors or 4 – 20 mA current transmitters, the milliK solves the problem of how to make high accuracy temperature measurements in an easy, expandable way with flexibility and features to make your life easier.
We can provide the millIK with suitable reference probes with the whole measuring chain UKAS Calibrated (ISO 17025).
Applications for milliK include, Precision Temperature Measurement, Chamber Mapping, Turbine Monitoring, Environmental Monitoring and Automated Temperature Calibration.
Precision Temperature Measurement Applications
The milliK is an ideal reference thermometer to use alongside temperature calibration sources, such as stirred liquid baths or dry block calibrators. The milliK can be used to both measure the temperature of a standard platinum resistance thermometer (SPRT) or platinum resistance thermometer (PRT), along with the thermometers being calibrated, connect thermocouples, PRTs, Pt100 as well as high accuracy thermistors – milliK supports all popular thermometer types. Many ISO 17025 accredited temperature laboratories rely on the milliK for all temperature measurements.
Do you need to map a chamber? Or an oven survey to AMS2750E? The precision thermometer can measure to higher accuracies than general purpose dataloggers solving the ‘accuracy problem’.
Again, the high accuracy of the thermometer makes it an ideal device for precision thermocouple measurement in many applications, including determining turbine performance and for measuring power plant efficiency.
The milliK routinely solves the problem of how to accurately log the environment, for example one National Measurement Institute (NMI) lowered their calibration and measurement capability (CMC) by using a milliK to record and log the ambient temperature from of gauge blocks used with a mechanical comparator.

When paired with Isotech calibration baths and I-Cal EASY automaton software the millIK is particularly suited for the automatic calibration of thermocouples and platinum resistance thermometers.

In oilfield and offshore oil exploration the milliK is commonly used to calibrate temperature sensors used in the wellhead.

The bench thermometer can connect to Isotech Calibration Baths and cycle them through a number of preset temperature calibration points whilst logging all the measurements from the thermometers being calibrated.
Expandable Temperature Measurement
The milliK has three channels as standard and can easily be extended with the millisKanner channel expander. Each millisKanner has eight expansion channels, and each can be configured for a resistance thermometer, thermistor probe or thermocouple. Up to four scanners can be added, it is all solid state, maintains full accuracy and all is easily controlled from the milliK with plug and play operation.
For the Laboratory or for use on Site
The milliK can make precision temperature measurements both in the laboratory and on site. There is an optional carry case with storage for probes and accessories.
Industry Leading Features – making metrology easy
With Ethernet, Serial and USB interfaces the user can easily monitor and control the milliK over a network, or from a PC with a serial connection. The USB interface allows operation with a standard keyboard and mouse. Data can be logged to either internal memory or an external drive.
True Temperature Display
The temperature display can display the true temperature utilising calibration data from a thermometer’s calibration certificate. An internal database has virtually unlimited storage (4 Gb) to store reference and test probes. Resistance thermometer calibration data can be stored with ITS-90 Coefficients or Callendar–Van Dusen Coefficients, while thermocouple data can be stored as “Data Pairs” or as a polynomial error correction.
In addition to remote control from a PC milliK can share its screen across the network mirroring the display to a PC.
Isotech have a range of “Semi Standard” resistance thermometers and thermocouples that can be calibrated together with the milliK to give a high accuracy temperature measurement with a low temperature calibration uncertainty. The system uncertainty for the whole chain ranges from 10mK (0.01°C) to just 5 mK (0.055°C) at 660°C.
